On Tuesday, February 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST, the International Human Rights Committee will host an CLE on the status of the death penalty worldwide. Our program will begin with a description of the historical underpinnings of the death penalty in a global context. Next, our experts will discuss the current status of the death penalty within the United States (among other countries). Finally, they will address global trends away from use of capital punishment. The panel discussion will take place within the context of international and domestic law as applied to the death penalty.
